What is Animal-Assisted Therapy?

Animal-Assisted Therapy is an innovative approach to therapy, appropriate for children 6 years and older. We focus on teaching skills by welcoming children and teens to enter a judgement free zone, build healthy relationships, and gain feelings of self-mastery.

When we provide a safe and supportive environment to work with the animals, your child will naturally learn and grow. Through hands on, interactive activities they will develop effective coping and communication skills. Our goal is for them to leave our sessions standing taller, communicating assertively, setting healthy boundaries, and believing in themselves.

Why Animal-Assisted Therapy?

Dogs and horses have partnered with humans for hundreds of thousands of years. Through this co-evolution, these animals developed the ability to read our physical, emotional, and mental states. Working with them as mutual partners in the therapeutic process makes them powerful co-therapists.
