Children and teens can be more responsive to their peers than to adults.

Sometimes groups are the best places for your child’s personal and social growth. Our animal-assisted therapeutic groups offer the opportunity for your child’s personal and pro-social learning through direct interactions with their peers and the animals. The therapist, co-facilitator, and animal co-therapists create a safe and playful space for experiential learning to take place.

Your child can learn to master these skills in our peer groups:

  • Healthy Boundary Setting

  • Pro-Social Communication Skills

  • Increased Self-Awareness

  • Working As A Collaborative Team

  • Leadership Skills

LEAD: A Therapeutic Group for Youth
Leadership, Emotions, Animals, Discovery!

LEAD empowers youth to discover an increased sense of calm, connection, and confidence within themselves and in their relationships. This interactive and collaborative group focuses on building your child’s resilience and leadership through a creative, holistic, and innovative approach. Now is the time for youth to explore balance within social connection. LEAD provides the perfect opportunity to revitalize their internal balance, motivation, and confidence through intentional connection with nature, animals, and peers.

They will learn the 5 C’s:

  • Increased sense of Calm

  • Pro-social Communication

  • Authentic Connection

  • Fluid Collaboration

  • Embodied Self-Confidence

How will they learn the 5 C’s?

  • Heart Math Techniques: Tools for physical, mental, and emotional balance based on heart intelligence.

  • Animal-Assisted Activities: Therapeutic activities with horses, dogs, and farm animals.  Please note, all the work with horses is done on the ground.

  • Experiential Activities

  • Positive Female Role Modeling

Collaborative Community Partnerships

Part of our vision at the Wish Fulfilling Tree is to partner with local community agencies to provide Animal-Assisted Therapeutic opportunities for young people who might not otherwise have such an opportunity. The Wish Fulfilling Tree has partnered with COTS, TLC Child & Family Services, Seneca Family of Agencies, and Kaiser Permanente to bring this unique opportunity into our community. If you are a community agency interested in partnering with us, please contact Shanti.
